Hello to everyone, my name is Keisha (aka Lilmama) and I'm from Houston, TX, where it's said everything is big down here. I don't know about all of that being true, but what I know is I do have a big love for Gospel music (that is after putting God, my family, and friends first of course!). I'm so excited to share that same joy, encouragement, and so many other feelings that overwhelm me when I hear gospel music with everyone who comes across this site.
I'm a big listener of gospel music from the 80's and 90's, mainly traditional gospel and contemporary gospel, but I tend to think I always have an open ear to hear anything that uplifts the soul and spreads the good news of the gospel. I'm looking foward to meeting my new brothers and sisters in Christ who stop by to visit. Feel free to leave a comment about anything you see here in the posts or you can also email me.
Also please keep in mind that I will not send mp3s or a copy of a particular album via mail or email, any requests for a particular song will be posted here for you to listen to only.
God bless!

Great post lil mama. I always wanted to know who was the original arranger since I saw Daryl Coley do the same arrangement with his choir.
I saw that clip with Daryl Coley on Youtube too...but yep, Benny Cummings arranged this arrangement. Hopefully this will make more people aware of Benny Cummings work and purchase his music.
Hi LilMama,
I just discovered your site about a week ago, so I'm now going back and enjoying all the older posts. I have a slight correction to the info in this post, because I have the cassette tape on which the song "It Is Well" appears, by Walt Whitman and The Soul Children. It's actually on their recording "This Is The Day," also on I Am Records, released in 1990, instead of "Live and Blessed." Just wanted to keep your info as accurate as possible.
Thank you again for maintaining this site. It truly is a Godsend!
I sang with Daryl Coley & The New Generation Singers back in the early 80s. I was introduced to Benny Cummings music because we did a lot of Benny's songs (some which I've posted on Youtube). I'm told him and his choir would put on quite a program! It was his music that made us a well known choir here in the SF Bay Area and beyond. I'm glad to see that Benny's legacy is being kept alive.
